What a temporary hygienist shift costs
A temporary hygienist shift has more than one price in it. The hygienist’s pay rate is the biggest part, a service fee sits on top, and someone has to carry the employer payroll costs. Staffing companies package those three differently, which is why two quotes that look alike can land far apart. Here is what each part is, and how Teero charges for it.

The line that moves the most money over a year is the one most quotes leave out. If you hire a temp hygienist onto your own payroll, most staffing companies treat that as a placement and bill for it. Teero does not, at any point, for any hygienist. Like Kwikly, there is no subscription and no minimum spend.
Temporary shifts, permanent hires, or both
Most practices come to Teero to cover a gap: a hygienist is out, a column is open, and the schedule is already full. That is the shift-by-shift use, and it is what the app is built for. You post the shift, hygienists nearby claim it, and you approve who comes in.
The second use is quieter and usually worth more. A temp who has already worked in your operatory, with your patients and your software, is the lowest-risk permanent hire you will make. You have seen the work. Teero charges nothing when you make that hire, however many shifts they worked first and however soon you decide.
Practices that use both stop treating them as separate things. A shift posted to cover Tuesday is also an audition, and the hygienist who fits stays.

How much does it cost?
Our pricing is transparent and the lowest in the industry. When posting a shift, you'll set the hygienist pay and see the markups for W-2 payroll fees (these go to the government) and our service fee of 12% (this is how we make money). You'll be able to see these fees when posting shifts, reviewing requests, and after a shift is completed.
Are your Dental Hygienists W-2 employees of Teero?

Is there a contract or commitment required to use Teero?
No. There are no contracts, commitments, or minimum usage requirements. Post shifts only when you need coverage and pay only for completed shifts.
How do dental temp agencies work?
You post the shift you need covered, with the date, the hours and the hourly rate you are offering. Hygienists in your area see it and claim it, and you approve who comes in. With a W-2 employer like Teero, the hygienist is our employee for that shift, so we run payroll and carry workers’ compensation and liability. You are billed after the shift is worked, not before.
How much should I pay a temp dental hygienist?
Set the rate against your own market rather than a national average. Teero publishes hourly ranges for every city we serve, drawn from what hygienists in that market actually accept. On top of the rate you pay Teero’s 12% service fee and the W-2 employer payroll costs for the shift, both shown before you confirm.
