Timely filing limits
Delta Dental of Ohio does not publish one filing deadline for every plan on its provider pages. The limit depends on the employer group or plan, so confirm it on the patient's plan documents or with provider services before you rely on it. Our guide to timely filing limits covers the common ranges.
EFT and ERA enrollment
Log in to the Dental Office Toolkit and follow the direct deposit link; new users register first. Activation typically takes seven days. EFT/ERA opt-in applies nationally across all Delta Dental member companies at once, not company by company.
Credentialing and network enrollment
Contact: https://www.providerwebportal.com/pact-ui/login
Self-service Provider Application and Credentialing Toolkit (PACT). Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana is NCQA-accredited for credentialing as one entity. No credentialing phone is published.
Plan clauses to check during verification
Missing tooth clause
Whether a missing tooth clause applies depends on the group plan. Ask whether the plan excludes replacing teeth lost before coverage began, and note the answer before you present a bridge or implant. See how to spot the missing tooth clause.
Waiting periods
Waiting periods are set by the group plan. Confirm the waiting period for basic and major services and the patient's effective date.
Downgrades (alternate benefit)
Ask whether posterior composites are paid at the amalgam rate and whether crowns downgrade to a base-metal benefit, so the patient estimate is right the first time.
Frequency limits
Frequency limits vary by plan. Confirm cleanings, exams, bitewings, full-mouth X-rays and fluoride limits, and the date of the last service billed.
Verification checklist for Delta Dental of Ohio
Use the Dental Office Toolkit for real-time eligibility, benefits and claim status; one login covers Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
For claim status, call the 24/7 DASI line (800-462-7283) rather than general customer service.
Focused Review accepts one reconsideration per service; its phone line is inquiries only, so mail new documentation to PO Box 9116.
EFT/ERA enrollment through the Dental Office Toolkit is a national opt-in across all Delta Dental member companies.
Ohio TriState Advantage (Medicaid, MyCare) members have a separate line: 833-778-7003.
Record the representative's name, the call reference number and the date for every phone verification.
