Timely filing limits

Delta Dental of Idaho does not publish one filing deadline for every plan on its provider pages. The limit depends on the employer group or plan, so confirm it on the patient's plan documents or with provider services before you rely on it. Our guide to timely filing limits covers the common ranges.

EFT and ERA enrollment

Enroll through Delta Dental of Idaho as your local member company. View ERAs on the National Dentist Dashboard at deltadental.com (Check National ERA tab) or through DentalXChange. Email providerservices@deltadentalid.com with questions.

Credentialing and network enrollment

Contact: 800-356-7586; providerservices@deltadentalid.com; online through DentalXChange (free)

Providers must notify Delta Dental of Idaho in writing of any credentialing application corrections within 10 days. A denied application can be appealed in writing within 30 calendar days of the denial notice.

Plan clauses to check during verification

Missing tooth clause

Whether a missing tooth clause applies depends on the group plan. Ask whether the plan excludes replacing teeth lost before coverage began, and note the answer before you present a bridge or implant. See how to spot the missing tooth clause.

Waiting periods

Waiting periods are set by the group plan. Confirm the waiting period for basic and major services and the patient's effective date.

Downgrades (alternate benefit)

Ask whether posterior composites are paid at the amalgam rate and whether crowns downgrade to a base-metal benefit, so the patient estimate is right the first time.

Frequency limits

Frequency limits vary by plan. Confirm cleanings, exams, bitewings, full-mouth X-rays and fluoride limits, and the date of the last service billed.
