how far ahead Lorraine usually posts Denmark Dental’s hygiene days
Denmark Dental is an independent family and cosmetic practice in Eagan, Minnesota, owned by Dr. Lisa Edstrom and Dr. Brandon Helgeson. Lorraine Dudley runs its business operations and HR.
The problem
A hygiene day at Denmark Dental means eight patients: five in the morning and three in the afternoon. In September 2025, the practice’s hygienist moved farther away and cut back from four days a week to three. She stayed on, but one hygiene day a week was suddenly empty.
Lorraine advertised for a part-time hygienist. Nobody applied. That same month, she wrote to us:
“Advertising has not produced any candidates… I have put in shifts to the end of December for Thursdays.”
— Lorraine Dudley, September 2025
The switch
Instead of filling the open day one week at a time, Lorraine posts it three to four months ahead. Hygienists usually book about six weeks before the date, so the day is covered well in advance.
After most shifts she rates the hygienist and saves the ones she wants back as favorites. Over time those favorites became a small group of regulars, so whoever is in the chair usually already knows the doctors and the patients.
The results
The open day is no longer a weekly scramble. Since September 2025, Teero hygienists have worked 77 days at Denmark Dental. At eight patients a day, that’s roughly 600 appointments that stayed on the books. As of October 2026, the practice’s hygiene days are booked into January 2027.
“I don’t think there was ever a time when they didn’t fill the schedule for us.”
— Lorraine Dudley, Business Operations & HR
Denmark Dental has used Teero more every year since joining in 2023. In October 2025, Lorraine sent us a note, unprompted:
“Just had to stop and say… You Guys Are Awesome!!! So happy working with all of you!”
— Lorraine Dudley, October 2025
